Vampires are heading to paradise in the upcoming Netflix anime Vampire in the Garden. To celebrate, the streaming service has uploaded an English subtitled trailer that promises heartache and action. The trailer and synopsis can be viewed below.

The fateful meeting of a human and the vampire queen may change the world. From WIT STUDIO and a team of talented creators comes Vampire in the Garden. One cold winter, humanity lost its battle with the vampires, and with it, most of where they called home. A small population of survivors created a wall of light in a small town to protect them and give them a place to live in peace. The protagonist, Momo, lives a repressed life but still wishes to coexist with the enemy, the vampires. Fine, the vampire queen, once loved humans and disappeared from the battlefield. As war rages through the humans' town, the two have a fateful encounter.Once upon a time, humans and vampires lived in harmony in a place called Paradise. This is the story of a young girl and a vampire on a journey to find Paradise.

While the cuts in the trailer are fast, it paints a very vivid picture of our two protagonists. Momo is a human girl living in this dystopian society, talked down to and forced every day to fight for her own survival. Meanwhile, Fine, the elegant vampire, also seems reluctant to charge into battle and lay waste to humanity. Fine then finds herself face to face with Momo as she confesses how much she truly hates living in a war-torn world. This is likely where their relationship is born, which leads them to run. But their flight causes an uproar on both sides, as humans constantly choose to fight Fine, and Momo is pushed to her limits. The trailer paints a tragically beautiful, action-packed teaser of the struggles these two women face, and all in the name of finding peace.

After all, the monster is associated with forbidden love, and it seems like something special grows between Momo and Fine. We can only hope that their story won’t be quite so tragic, but we’ll have to wait in order to find out. Netflix will be premiering Vampire in the Garden on its streaming platform on May 16th of this year.
