The Brat Pack (TV): According to Variety, VH1 and 10-month-old production outfit Windmill Entertainment are partnering on the music channel's first-ever foray into scripted miniseries -- centered on the adolescent years of such teen pic vets as Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe and Demi Moore.

The four-hour project, based on the book "Brat Pack Confidential" by Andrew Pulver and Steven Davies, chronicles the rise and fall of the group of young actors who toplined such '80s youth fare as "The Breakfast Club" and "St. Elmo's Fire." MTV Networks movies topper Maggie Malina is overseeing the project penned by Windmill topper Craig Nevius. Von Zerneck/Sertner Films will also produce.

"While we are depicting some sensational scenes, it is done with affection for the actors," Nevius said. "It's the story of these actors who got it all, lost it all, but survived. There are no sad stories at the end of the day because, look, they are all working."
