Paula Abdul's exit from American Idol has been filled, for the time being, and Abdul herself is close to landing a new gig. Variety is reporting that Victoria Beckham has signed on to be a guest judge on American Idol.

The former Spice Girl and current Mrs. David Beckham will appear as the guest host of one episode of the upcoming ninth season of the Fox reality series, and singer Katy Perry has been confirmed as the guest judge of another episode this season. Those guest spots will fill the void left by Paula Abdul's recent departure from the hit reality series, but it seems that Abdul might have a new job already.

Variety is also reporting that Abdul is in negotiations to appear on So You Think You Can Dance, but not necessarily as a judge. It was said that Abdul might not be a permanent judge, since producer Nigel Lythgoe is, "not a huge fan" of the four-judge system implemented on American Idol this past season. They were exploring multiple possibilities to make Abdul a part of the show while maintaining the three-judge format.
