When Marvel /marvel-studios-announces-release-dates-for-5-new-movies-through-2019/announced release dates for 6 new untitled films just before Comic-Con last month, no one thought to mention The Inhumans while speculating on what these next Marvel movies may actually be. We've heard Doctor Strange, Black Panther and a number of sequels tossed about, with Guardians of the Galaxy 2 eventually claiming one of these dates while at Comic-Con. This leaves 5 spots still open. Today, Guardians of the Galaxy star Vin Diesel updated his Facebook page with a picture of Groot standing in a forest. And he not so subtly hints that he may be taking on a role in the once rumored The Inhumans for Marvel.

Take a look at his post:

Groot Vin Diesel
"Vin and Marvel... you all made it happen!

I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I'm Inhuman... Haha."

The Inhumans, which got an animated movie in April of 2013, follows a race of highly advanced humans who live in the city of Attilan, the result of a Kree experiment. They have developed special powers through Terrigen Mist, which allows them a selective breeding process to pass on their abilities. Black Bolt is the leader of the Inhuman Royal Family, and he has the ability to unleash a powerful, concussive force through the use of his voice (just like Vin Diesel).

If Vin Diesel were to take on this role, its interesting to note that Black Bolt is a mute, so we would not actually hear him speak. In Guardians of the Galaxy we only hear Vin's voice, so it all adds up, doesn't it? Black Bolt is the type of character that demands respect as soon as he walks into a room. A role tailor made for the actor.

Prior to signing on for Groot, Vin Diesel made it clear that he was taking on a more substantial role in a different Marvel movie. He joined Guardians of the Galaxy for the immediacy of the project, since he claimed fans were eager to see him sooner than later in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But he would also be appearing in human form at some point.

Is Black Bolt in The Inhumans the character and movie he has been teasing this entire time? Marvel Comics recently launched a massive crossover titled Inhumanity, which found the Inhumans leaving earth after a major tragedy, with the beings now under the same type of scrutiny as the mutants in the X-Men movies. It's been speculated that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will even be referred to as Inhumans in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Vin Diesel previously hinted that he would be making his true appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase 3. Though, it should be noted that he has a lot on his plate, with The Last Witch Hunter, Kojak and XXX: The Return of Xander Cage all in the works. He also has Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on the horizon for 2017. Even if he is starring in an adaptation of The Inhumans, he might not be seen as Black Bolt on screen for years.

Of course, Black Bolt could be introduced in one of the other upcoming Marvel movies. Maybe even Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Would you like to see the actor pulling double-duty in the sequel, lending his voice to one character, and his body to another?
