Vin Diesel is an action icon! Vin Diesel is a tough guy! Vin Diesel is a giant nerd! And he proves that by showing his love for the geekiest game ever invented, Dungeons and Dragons. Last week, the Furious 7 star bragged that Dungeons & Dragons co-creator E. Gary Gygax wanted him to tell the story of this infamous game on the big screen. Now, in a new video, he's proving exactly why that should happen.

Yes, we have a video that shows Vin Diesel playing a heated game of Dungeons and Dragons. But it's not just any old round of the classic role playing adventure. Here, Vin Diesel has once again assumed the role of immortal warrior Kaulder. You can watch him roll the 12 sided die as his character from The Last Witch Hunter, which hits theaters this Friday, October 23.

Vin Diesel isn't just stepping in to pretend like he knows Dungeons & Dragons to impress the massive nerd army who might be interested in his fantasy adventure. Vin Diesel is no poser, as Barry Goldberg might enthusiastically spray forth an ocean of spit. No! Vin Diesel actually knows the ins and outs of this game better than he knows how to act. Some might even call him an authority on the original RPG.

Vin Diesel begin playing Dungeons and Dragons as a kid in 1980s New York. He penned the foreword to the 2004 book 30 Years of Adventure: A Celebration of Dungeons & Dragons. He credits the game with first getting him interested in acting. And to top it all off, the man actually has a tattoo of his game character Melkor somewhere on his body. If that doesn't scream true fan, nothing will convince you. Well, maybe this cool promotional video from Nerdist will help further push the point home. Nerdist and Dungeon Master Matthew Mercer from Geek & Sundry helped put this particular game on. About creating the Kaulder character used by Vin Diesel, Mercer had this to say.

"The Witch Hunter is designed to play as a second-line combat class (more damage and utility than tanking) that can use its own health as a resource. Single weapon combat makes for a fun, focused bit of balance and survivability, where dual-wielding with dual-Blood Rite becomes a dangerous trade for extra damage. Throw in the Crossbow Expert feat for a fun Melee + Hand crossbow or dual-hand crossbow build."

In The Last Witch Hunter, the modern world holds many secrets, but the most astounding secret of all is that witches still live amongst us; vicious supernatural creatures intent on unleashing the Black Death upon the world. Armies of witch hunters battled the unnatural enemy across the globe for centuries, including Kaulder (Vin Diesel), a valiant warrior who managed to slay the all-powerful Queen Witch, decimating her followers in the process. In the moments right before her death, the Queen curses Kaulder with her own immortality, forever separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife.

Today Kaulder is the only one of his kind remaining, and has spent centuries hunting down rogue witches, all the while yearning for his long-lost loved ones. However, unbeknownst to Kaulder, the Queen Witch is resurrected and seeks revenge on her killer causing an epic battle that will determine the survival of the human race. Along side Vin Diesel's Kaulder, Rose Leslie stars as Chloe, Elijah Wood as Dolan Thirty-Seven and Michael Caine as Dolan Thirty-Six. Check it out as Vin Diesel's Kaulder comes screaming back to life for a rousing game of D&D! We have both the exciting 4 minute sizzle reel with all the highlights, and the full 30 minute game!
