/vin-diesel-is-kojak/Last year we reported that action star Vin Diesel had joined Universal Pictures upcoming adaptation of the 1970's TV series Kojak. Today, he expressed his desire to work with director Ang Lee on the project as a response to a question from a fan on his Facebook page. Here is what he said.

"With what director would you like to work soon?

Kojak... New York...

Ang Lee..."

The studio has not confirmed anything, but his answer insinuates that they may be close to a deal with the director.

Writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are penning the screenplay, which will be an adaptation of the classic TV series. The show ran from 1973 to 1978 and starred Telly Savalas as the bald NYPD Detective Lieutenant Theo Kojak. He was known for his love for lollipops and his catchphrase, 'Who loves ya baby?' This version will be set in modern-day New York.

Vin Diesel will be starring as the title character. He is also producing alongside Samantha Vincent. No production schedule has been released.
