Actor Vince Vaughn, who will next be seen in the upcoming holiday comedy Fred Claus, has just signed a two-year, first-look production deal with Universal Pictures. According to Variety, he plans on making three very different films; all of which he plans to star in.
The first film is Male Doula. It will be a "high-concept" comedy written by The Wedding Date's Dana Fox. Vaughn will be working with producer Scott Stuber on the other two projects. One of them is being written by his Swingers co-star Jon Favreau, and it will be about a group of couples who decide to attend a counsel retreat to invigorate their waning marriages.
The third film in the deal is Realtors, a black comedy about competing realtors who must forge a life in the brutal residential housing market.
Universal's Marc Shmuger stated, "We came away feeling that he was one of the absolute smartest guys in the business, who attended to every part of the process with such focus and has a real touch for what is fresh and interesting for the culture. We think Vince will find a long and comfortable place for himself here."
