In a story from Variety it seems that Virginia Madsen, Empire 8 Prods. and Vancouver's Screen Siren will be putting together, Fighting Gravity.

The film is about women ski jumpers and their fight to take part in the 2010 Winter Olympics. The documentary will look at 15 athletes as they go up against the International Olympic Committee's decision to stop them from competing in the upcoming Games in Vancouver. At present the case is currently mired in the Canadian court system.

Directing this project is former MTV News producer Alex Mar.

"To think that in 2009, in a celebrated, international event like the Olympics, women are still dealing with discrimination is pretty shocking," Madsen, who is producing the project through her Title IX Production company, stated. "We knew instantly we wanted to throw our support behind this project and get the word out there."
