Walker on The CW is a huge hit, and it looks like the Texas sheriff is getting some much-needed assistance. Ashley Reyes (How I Met Your Father, American Gods) has been cast as a lead opposite Jared Padalecki. Reyes, who has joined the cast as a series regular, will first appear in the next episode, “Nudge”, which is set to premiere on March 3rd, 2022.

According to Deadline, Reyes is coming in as former main star Lindsay Morgan left the show earlier this season for personal reasons. Reyes will play a new character, Cassie, who is Walker’s new partner. She is a Texas Ranger based in Dallas who served as a Texas state trooper for eight years before that. Her character knows that she’s one of the few women in her field and that the odds are always against her.

Reyes is known for her series regular role as Cordelia on Starz’s American Gods. She can also be seen in a recurring role on Hulu’s How I Met Your Father, which is a spinoff of How I Met Your Mother. Born in New York, Reyes was seen on Broadway in The Play That Goes Wrong. Reyes, a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, also participated in the New York 2018 ABC Network Talent Showcase and was a Stephen Sondheim Student Performer of the Year Finalist in London, winning for her performance of the best new song.

In addition to Padalecki, Allen, and Brinson, Reyes joins other series regulars Molly Hagan, Kale Culley, Coby Bell, Jeff Pierre, Mitch Pileggi, and Odette Annable. Walker is written and executive produced by Anna Fricke, and executive produced by Dan Lin and Lindsay Liberatore, Padalecki, Seamus Kevin Fahey, and Steve Robin. The series is from CBS Studios in association with Rideback.

The story of the Walker family has more to tell as the CW is currently developing a prequel to the show. This will be set in the 1800s as the story follows Abby Walker who makes her way to what seems like a simple Texas town. However, things are not always what they seem, and each town has its secrets. No word on when the pilot episode will drop but, it has been ordered. You can watch new episodes of Walker Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the CW. Don't forget to tune in on March 3rd to see Ashley Reyes in her debut.
