With just over one week left until The Walking Dead returns with the Season 5 premiere "No Sanctuary", AMC has released a behind-the-scenes featurette that offers new insight into where the story may be heading.

Executive producer Denise M. Huth reveals that this season is particularly exciting because Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his survivors don't necessarily have a place to call home and there is plenty of uncertainty about the fates of these characters. Andrew Lincoln explains that this season keeps propelling the story forward, while showrunner Scott M. Gimple teases that it will be a season of extremes, as the group's experiences at Terminus will play a major impact into how they move forward.

Andrew Lincoln and Scott M. Gimple both add that Rick is the most comfortable he's ever been in being the group's leader, and we also hear from executive producer Gale Anne Hurd and stars Michael Cudlitz (Abraham Ford), Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha), Danai Gurira (Michonne) explain what the group's mindset is heading into this season. Take a look at new footage along with interviews from the cast and crew before Season 5 debuts Sunday, October 12 at 9 PM ET on AMC.
