"Will Daryl Dixon die in The Walking Dead?" That's the question on everyone's mind as Season 5 gears up for it's debut this October. The other question seems to be, "Is Daryl gay?" According to those close to the show, maybe. Norman Reedus has quite the journey ahead of himself this year, landing as perhaps the most popular character on one of television's most popular series. A new set of photos tease his fate post-Terminus, and it looks promising. Apparently, he'll make it out in tact, and he'll stay alive long enough to reunite with his beloved Carol (Melissa Suzanne McBride). Will they have that important chat about sexuality in the wake of a zombie apocalypse sometime in the near future?
Showrunner Scott M. Gimple and comic creator Robert Kirkman have promised that this will be the most violent and action-packed run of episodes to date. Season 5 will immediately pick-up where we last left off with Rick and his extended survivor family trapped in an old train car on the Terminus compound, about to be consumed by cannibals, a fate worse than walking into a horde of walkers without a gun or a sword. These latest photos hint that Carol may be the savior of the group, as she is seen standing in the abandoned train yard. Take a look as the cast gather for another, possibly more brutal journey.
After looking through this last batch of photos, you may have noticed the absence of Bob (Larry Gilliard Jr.), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Carl (Chandler Riggs). Is it possible that they have all wound up in a bowl of people soup? That's unlikely this earlier in the game, but The Walking Dead Season 5 premiere does promise to bring an unexpected death or two. Who's time is up? We'll have to tune in this fall to find out, as the series returns to AMC on Sunday, October 12.
