Production is currently under way on Season 7 of The Walking Dead, with a report from yesterday revealing that filming has started on the third episode. One of the show's stars, Norman Reedus, has been making the press rounds for his new AMC series Ride with Norman Reedus, a six-part series docudrama that debuts on Sunday, June 12. The actor previously teased that this season will make the "world explode," now he's offering even more details about what sounds like a truly astounding season opener.

We last saw Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his crew of Alexandria survivors in quite the predicament, after they had been trapped by the vicious group known as The Saviors, where we got our first look at Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). While we'll have to wait until the Season 7 premiere to find out who was on the receiving end of Negan's beating, Norman Reedus told TV Line that it will be well worth the wait. Here's what the actor had to say.

"I will definitely 100-percent say that it's well worth the wait. It's large. It's mind-blowing. It's a completely brand-new world right now. It's very exciting. And it's emotional. And then it's overwhelming and emotional!"

In the original comics by Robert Kirkman, Negan was introduced in the 100th issue, where he trapped Rick and his group much like how the episode went down. In the comics, the random victim Negan chose was Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), but in the Season 6 finale, we weren't shown who the victim was. The Season 7 premiere will pick up exactly where the Season 6 finale left off, but don't expect anyone in this tight-knit cast to reveal who was killed before the premiere. Here's what Norman Reedus had to say about life on the set and working with this cast.

"We're a very tight-knit group down there [on location in Georgia], and we take it very personally, because we're in it and living it. Every time you see us crying on camera, those are real tears. It's a whole day of living that s-t. And when personal things happen to you, you don't wander around telling everybody your personal stuff. So for us, it doesn't feel like just a spoiler, it feels like a moment that really happened. And if there's a death involved, it's kinda weird to talk about it. It's like going to our friend's funeral or going possibly to our own funeral! It's not like, 'Hey, how are you? Want a selfie? Let me tell you about the funeral I was just at..."

Season 7 will also introduce fans to another survivor's colony from the comics, known as The Kingdom. Many believe that the unnamed characters Morgan (Lennie James) and Carol (Melissa McBride) encounter in the Season 6 premiere were members of The Kingdom, which, in the comics, is a college campus that has been transformed into a fortified colony. This group is lead by a character named Ezekiel, who has a massive pet tiger named Shiva. Our report from last week teased that they may not use a live tiger for Shiva, but instead it will be portrayed through a combination of animatronics and CGI. Stay tuned for more on The Walking Dead Season 7 as we get closer to its premiere, sometime this October. But first, we'll see the backhalf of Fear the Walking Dead this August.
