Rick Grimes and his band of survivors had better be prepared for the fight of their lives. That is really saying something considering AMC's The Walking Dead has really put the group through the ringer over the past seven seasons. The first trailer for The Walking Dead Season 8 is here and, as promised, it is going to be all out war between Rick's group and Negan. Who is going to come out on top? We have our guesses, seeing as the network wants to keep the show going as long as possible, but blood will be spilled.

AMC has made The Walking Dead an absolute staple at San Diego Comic-Con over the years and it always gets a very warm welcome. Considering it is one of the biggest shows on TV right now and it is adapting one of the most beloved comic books of the modern era for the small screen, that should come as no surprise. The show did suffer from some ratings drops last season, much of that having to do with the drop off following the resolution of the Season 6 cliffhanger, but the show remains a monster hit. With The Walking Dead Season 8, AMC is looking to win back some of that audience. This trailer proves that they can do just that.

As was promised by the first poster for The Walking Dead Season 8, a big war between Rick and Negan is coming. This season looks to finally adapt the beloved All Out War storyline from the comics, which spanned 16 issues and is one of the high points of the series overall. The All Out War story chronicles the war between Negan and his Saviors, and the army assembled by Rick, which includes Alexandria, The Kingdom and the Hilltop Colony. It is bloody, epic and sprawling. This could make for some great TV and a massively entertaining season of The Walking Dead. We haven't even mentioned zombies yet! The walkers are aplenty, in addition to the human on human violence.

The Walking Dead cast and creative team was in full force at San Diego Comic-Con this year to present the footage and to discuss the upcoming season. Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes), Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan), Lauren Cohan (Maggie Rhee), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Melissa McBride (Carol Peletier), Lennie James (Morgan Jones), Chandler Riggs (Carl Grimes), Seth Gilliam (Father Gabriel Stokes), Alanna Masterson (Tara Chambler) and Khary Payton (King Ezekiel) were all in attendance. Based on the trailer, we can guess that some of the cast members may not be back for the panel next year.

Will Negan finally meet his demise at the hand of Rick Grimes? Or will he live to swing around Lucille for another season? We will find out when The Walking Dead Season 8 debuts on AMC October 22. For now, be sure to check out the first trailer for The Walking Dead Season 8 for yourself below and keep your eyes peeled for the rest of our SDCC coverage throughout the weekend.
