Actor Charlie Rowe has landed a leading role in the Fox animated adventure Walking with Dinosaurs 3D.

The story follows two teenage brothers who want to follow in the footsteps of their father, as they discover dinosaurs in the Arctic Circle.

Barry Cook and Neil Nightingale are directing from a screenplay by John Collee and Theodore Thomas. Michael Devlin, Amanda Hill, and Deepak Nayar are producing.

Charlie Rowe is best known for his roles in The Golden Compass, Pirate Radio, and Never Let Me Go, along with the mini-series Neverland.

Fox has slated a December 20, 2013 release date for Walking with Dinosaurs 3D, but since Charlie Rowe is the first actor to be cast, don't be surprised if the studio pushes this into 2014.
