Back in November, fans got their first look at Dominic Cooper as King Llane Wrynn and Robert Kazinsky as Ogrim from the highly-anticipated Warcraft, with the cast and characters revealed shortly thereafter. Sadly, though, we haven't heard anything else about this highly-anticipated video game adaptation since then, which is making the 15-month wait even longer, for some fans. Thankfully, director Duncan Jones gave his first interview about the project with the Chinese site MTime, revealing that the film opens with the Alliance humans and the Horde orcs meeting for the first time, and that the story will focus on both the humans and the orcs equally.

"When I went to talk to [producer] Chris Metzen and the guys at Blizzard, we both saw things the same way. A Warcraft film should not be about a good race of humans battling an evil race of orcs! Warcraft should be about heroes on both sides trying to avoid a conflict, when villains leave them no choice. I hope that with our film, the audience will get a chance to see past the Horde/Alliance divide and recognize the heroes on BOTH sides! When I first chatted about the film and Blizzard, the plan was to start our film with the first time Orcs met Humans. First contact! I think that for a world with so much newness to explain, this was a wise choice, especially when so many people in our audience may not know anything about Warcraft... it was important that some of our characters would be seeing the world fresh as well, and that the audience could see the situation through their eyes."

Given the massive popularity of the game, many are wondering if Legendary Pictures are planning a franchise around this first Warcraft adventure. Of course, those conversations won't likely begin in earnest until the two-year post-production process is complete, but Duncan Jones revealed that there is "plenty more to tell," if the audiences are on board with his video game adaptation.

"I know that my job in this first film is to establish certain characters, places and culture while telling a story that a broad audience can be excited by. Hopefully, if I have done my job right, people will want to know and see more. There is certainly plenty more to tell!"

It isn't known when the first trailer may debut, but, since the first teaser debuted at Comic-Con 2014 last summer, it certainly seems possible that the full trailer will debut in San Diego this summer at Comic-Con 2015.
