Warner Bros. has acquired the upcoming Sean Rubin graphic novel Bolivar to adapt into an animated feature. Irish filmmaker Kealan O'Rourke is attached to write the screenplay adaptation and make his feature directorial debut with Bolivar.

The story centers on a young woman named Sybil, who moves to New York City and discovers her new neighbor is the last dinosaur left on Earth, named Bolivar. At first, the reclusive dinosaur refused to befriend her, but then Bolivar comes to realize how much the girl means to him. The graphic novel will be published in May 2013 by Archaia Entertainment.

Akiva Goldsman and Kerry Foster are attached to produce Bolivar through their Weed Road Productions company. Archaia's editor-in-chief Stephen Christy will also produce.

No production schedule is currently set for Bolivar.
