Warner Bros. is going back to ancient Greek times with its new project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has won a bidding war for the hot script Odysseus by Ann Peacock.

Jonathan Liebsman is attached to direct the film, which will center on the Greek hero Odysseus, who returns from 20 years of war to find his city and family ravaged by a menacing force and single-handedly fights them off. Warner Bros. beat out Paramount in a bidding war for the script.

Producer Gianni Nunnari came up with an idea during a meeting with Liebsman, who brought the pitch to Peacock, who wrote it on spec. Nunnari and Liebsman will receive story credits on the film.
