Warner Brothers has nabbed the big screen rights to the popular Japanese anime Ninja Scroll. According to Variety, the film will be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio's production banner Appian Way.

The live action film will be written by Alex Tse. The storyline is set in feudal Japan, and it will follow a Ninja for hire that is forced into fighting an old enemy. The Ninja will have to stop his evil nemesis from overthrowing the government. At this time, DiCaprio is not planning on appearing in the kung fu drama.

There was no announcement as to when shooting would begin.
