It seems that Clint Eastwood's new film will be going up against some horror heavyweights this October. eRc Box Office is reporting that Warner Bros. has set an October 22 release date for Eastwood's latest film Hereafter.

The film, which stars Matt Damon and Bryce Dallas Howard, will be stepping in the middle of an already-heated horror feud, with Saw VII 3D and Paranormal Activity 2 already slated for release on the same date. You can find the synopsis for the film below and we'll be sure to keep you posted on any further news regarding Hereafter as soon as we have more information.

Hereafter tells the story of three people who are touched by death in different ways. George (Matt Damon) is a blue-collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie (Cécile De France), a French journalist, has a near-death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus, a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers. Each on a path in search of the truth, their lives will intersect, forever changed by what they believe might--or must--exist in the hereafter.
