The ongoing legal battle over one highly-anticipated superhero film may be close to over. According to The Hollywood Reporter, 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros. are reportedly "close" to reaching a settlement deal over the distribution of the film, Watchmen, which is set for release on March 6.

While a judge did rule that Fox appeared to have distribution rights to the film, settlement talks waged all weekend and continued Monday behind closed doors in Los Angeles federal court.

Neither party would comment on the discussions, but Warner Bros. did not continue to ask Judge Gary Feess to move up a January 20 injunction hearing, which would indicate a settlement could be reached shortly.

We'll certainly keep you posted on any and all developments surrounding this lawsuit. As it stands now, Watchmen is set for release on March 6.
