Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto are set to star in WeCrashed, a new limited series based on the podcast WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork icoming fromt Apple TV+. The series is described as a story that details the "greed-filled rise and inevitable fall of WeWork, one of teh world's most valuable startups, and the narcissists whose chaotic love made it all possible. Hathaway and Leto will play WeWork co-founders Rebekah and Adam Neumann.

The series is created by Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello, and Crazy Stupid Love directors John Requa and Glenn Ficara will be directing. Along with starring in the lead roles, Hathaway and Leto will also executive produce the series with Eisenberg, Crevello, Requa, Ficarra, Natalie Sandy, and Charlie Gogolak. Emma Ludbrook will also executive produce alongside Leto under their Paradox production company banner.

Anne Hathaway and Leto are both Oscar winners. The former won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 2012 movie adaptation of the musical Les Misérables. She was also nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her performance in the acclaimed drama Rachel Getting Married. She has continued to be very active in recent years, which includes a starring role in HBO Max's remake of The Witches last year. Just recently, her newest movie Locked Down, following a couple carrying out a jewelry store heist, debuted on HBO Max.

Jared Leto has also won an Oscar, nabbing the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Dallas Buyers Club. Unfortunately, Leto has revealed that the Oscar he won has since turned up missing, but that doesn't take away from the accomplishment. He will also have other chances to compete for prestigious acting awards, as Leto is keeping himself very busy in the months ahead. His newest movie The Little Things just released on HBO Max and in theaters, and he's also set to star in the comic book adaptation Morbius.

This week, it was also announced that Leto was teaming back up with Requiem for a Dream director Darren Aronofsky to appear in a new movie for Blumhouse. Called Adrift, the movie is inspired by the Mary Celeste, the famous "ghost ship" that was discovered adrift in the Atlantic Ocean after it had been mysteriously deserted. Because Requiem for a Dream was a critical hit, there's a good chance that a new movie from Leto and Aronofsky could do very well.

Another series about WeWork is also in the works. Based on the book The Cult of We by Wall Street Journal reporters Eliot Brown and Maureen Farrell, this series comes from Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content. Nicholas Braun (Succession) is on board to play Adam Neumann in the series with Stephen Falk serving as writer and showrunner. A network hasn't yet been found for this iteration of the story. A Blumhouse and Universal movie about the company from The Big Short screenwriter Charles Randolph had also been announced in 2019, but the status of the project is unknown.

It's not clear yet when Leto and Hathaway's WeWork series will start filming. This news comes to us from Variety.
