Jenna Ortega has become the center of attention after starring in Wednesday. For the 20-year-old, this could be a sign that some big future roles are on the cards, but although that would usually at some point lead to talk of a Marvel Cinematic Universe role, some of Ortega’s fans have decided that she may not be able to get that big lead role in an upcoming MCU movie because he has already appeared in one.

Even though it would be very easy to not know, Jenna Ortega appeared in Iron Man 3 in 2012 when she was just 10 years old. Her scene is so short that it certainly falls into the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it category, but that hasn’t stopped some from believing that she could now not miss out on a big shot at an MCU future because of that. In a Twitter post, it was pointed out by Mia Khalifa to her millions of followers that “Life is unfair, and I stand by that because Jenna Ortega had a cameo in a Marvel movie years ago which means we’ll never be able to see her as a lead in a Marvel movie.”

While there were plenty of Ortega’s fans who shared their surprise at her previous Marvel appearance, having had no idea that she was even in Iron Man 3, there were others who were a little more optimistic about her possible inclusion in another Marvel movie sometime in the future.

Will Jenna Ortega Appear In A Marvel Movie?

Iron Man 3

The simple answer to that is yes, if she wants to and it the right role comes around. Although Ortega has appeared in the Marvel franchise, her role is minimal enough and also was a role that she played as a young child, meaning that it would likely not stop her ever being offered a more prominent role in the MCU.

She would also not be the first to have appeared twice as different characters within the Marvel franchise either. One of the most prominent uses of the same actor in two different roles is Gemma Chan, who after appearing as Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel, returned in role of Sersi in Eternals. In both cases, the characters were not hidden behind layers of make-up and CGI effects. This should mean that Ortega will have no problem stepping into a big Marvel role if and when it comes along.

Of course, that is something for the future. For now, Ortega is still basking in the large amount of praise that has come her way for taking on the iconic role of Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s latest hit. The success of the series has more or less guaranteed at least a second season of the show, and who knows what other doors that is going to open up to Ortega, who has been crafting herself a very clear path as the next big “Scream Queen” having already been seen in the likes of Scream and X.

Wednesday is currently streaming on Netflix.
