Given the overwhelming positive response to her performance in the role, it's clear that Jenna Ortega was the perfect choice when it came to casting the titular character in Wednesday. Taking to the role well, Ortega also contributed to bringing the character to life in her own ways. This includes calling for small changes as the series came together during production, with Ortega better understanding how her Wednesday would react to certain moments.

Case in point would be one line in particular that Ortega says she refused to say. Speaking about the dialogue in a video shared on TikTok, Ortega mentions a scripted line from the fourth episode that felt out of character for Wednesday Addams. She recalls how the dialogue was so unfitting it left her "blown away," and was ultimately changed when Ortega's input was taken into account.

From the video:

"I remember there's a line where, like, I'm talking about a dress, and initially she was supposed to say, 'Oh, my God, I'm freaking out over a dress, I literally hate myself. And I was blown away because that sounded like -- it was just a bunch of little things like that. I felt like we were able to avoid a lot of dialogue in an attempt to make her sound human."

Wednesday Will Probably Get a Second Season

Netflix

People just can't stop streaming Wednesday on Netflix, as the Addams Family reboot series is back in the top spot on Netflix's list of most-watched TV shows. After having a strong debut with its premiere on Netflix in November, Wednesday has slid down the list as viewers check out other shows like The Recruit, Emily in Paris, and The Witcher: Blood Origin. However, days ahead of the end of the year, Wednesday is back at the top of the mountain, rising again to No. 1 as Netflix's most-watched TV show of the week.

Given the high viewership for Wednesday, along with the positive reviews, it seems more likely than not that the series will get a second season. As of now, season 2 hasn't been officially announced, and Netflix's track record of canceling shows after a single season may have some fans scared about the future of the show. For now, we'll just have to wait until an announcement makes things official.

The first season of Wednesday is streaming on Netflix.
