Netflix has unveiled the official teaser trailer for Wendell & Wild. As a film that utilizes stop-motion animation, Wendell & Wild is brought to life by Henry Selick, one of the very best filmmakers with experience in that department as the director of movies like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline. Ahead of the arrival of Wendell & Wild on Netflix next month, you can check out the new teaser trailer below.

Selick directed Wendell & Wild using a screenplay co-written with Oscar-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us, Nope). The two also produced the film alongside Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Win Rosenfeld. Executive producers include Lindsay Williams, Eddie Gamarra, Kamil Oshundara, and Ian Cooper.

The movie follows a young orphan whose demons are the titular duo voiced by Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key. The official synopsis for Wendell & Wild reads:

From the delightfully wicked minds of Henry Selick and producer Jordan Peele comes Wendell & Wild, an animated tale about scheming demon brothers Wendell (Keegan-Michael Key) and Wild (Peele), who enlist the aid of Kat Elliot — a tough teen with a load of guilt — to summon them to the Land of the Living. But what Kat demands in return leads to a brilliantly bizarre and comedic adventure like no other, an animated fantasy that defies the law of life and death, all told through the handmade artistry of stop motion.

“It's almost like the relationship you have with your toys when you're little," Selick has teased of the tone of the film, via Tudum. "You believe they're real and alive, and you imagine them being alive and having conversations. That's the thing about stop motion: Somehow that thing exists.”

Wendell & Wild will first premiere in select movie theaters on Oct. 21, 2022, before becoming widely available on Netflix for streaming starting on Oct. 28, 2022.
