2013's We're the Millers was a surprise smash hit comedy, grossing an unexpected $150 domestically and $270 millon worldwide. It followed the misadventures of a drug dealer who concocts a fake family to smuggle dope across the Mexican-American border. Original stars Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts, Ed Helms and Will Poulter are all expected to return for the sequel.
No deals are in place just yet. And a director has not signed on. Rawson Marshall Thurber is expected to return to helm the comedy, but negotiations have not yet started.
Chris Bender and Vincent Newman are producing. Adam Sztykiel is best known for writing the 2010 comedy Due Date, which starred Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis in a cross-country road trip not unlike the one seen in We're the Millers.
