Blade star Wesley Snipes has revealed his interest in joining the Star Wars franchise. The actor, who is best known for playing Marvel’s vampire hunter along with various other action her roles, detailed his awe at seeing the first Star Wars movie back in the ‘70s while speaking with Comicbook.com, stating that the wide world of Star Wars would be “fun” to be a part of.

"Well, it would've been cool to be a part of the Star Wars universe. Clearly I'm a fan from the '70s. I remember going in the theater, having no idea what my friend was taking me to see, and mad at him for bringing me there initially, because I thought there was some Kung Fu movie that was a much better choice, and then being totally immersed into the world that they created, amazed by how they pulled it off, inspired in terms of, from an actor's perspective. That would've been fun to be a part of."

Snipes remains a fan-favorite among comic book and action movie fans, and no doubt many would love to see him added to one of the many Star Wars projects currently on the horizon. One such project is critically acclaimed Disney+ series The Mandalorian, which Snipes expresses interest in joining, if only to reunite with his One Night Stand co-star Ming-Na Wen.

"Ah, Mandalorian, that'd be fun too. She and I, the actress, Ming-Na Wen. We did a wonderful piece that was an award-winning piece, a drama, very different from the Marvel films that we've done after that. But it was called One Night Stand, it's wonderful."

The vast universe that is Star Wars would provide plenty of opportunities for Snipes. But where would he best fit in? Surely the most obvious choice would be a Jedi warrior, with the idea of Snipes wielding a lightsaber almost too tantalizing.

Blade star Wesley Snipes is far from the only major star with their eyes on joining the world of Star Wars. A recent rumor has claimed that Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown has been in informal talks with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy about adding her name to the roster of those involved in the stories from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away,

"Millie is on Disney's radar for the new Star Wars projects,” the rumor claims. “She's had contact with Kathleen, who is aware of her desire to feature in a movie or play a central role in one of the new TV projects for Disney Plus. The conversations are informal but there's huge mutual respect there. The Disney executives know just how much of an icon she is already for the 10 to 30-year-old audience and what that brings in terms of appeal.”

Wesley Snipes is currently working on a graphic novel, The Exiled, which finds Detective Niles "Roach" Washington, a character based on Snipes, as he navigates a conspiracy-laden world on the tail of a serial killer. Ignoring the warning signs around him, Roach powers on and discovers one of the world's darkest secrets.
