FX has released two new teasers for What We Do in the Shadows season 2. The highly anticipated second season will premiere April 15th on FX and the next day on Hulu. The two teasers find the gang in the pharmacy as they check out some sunscreen and look into some blood pressure tests. Will extra strength sunscreen be powerful enough to protect vampires from the sun? We're about to find out.

What We Do in the Shadows season 2 sees the vampires as they try to find their way in a world of human Super Bowl parties, internet trolls, an energy vampire who gets a promotion and becomes drunk on power and of course, all the ghosts, witches, necromancers, zombies and shadowy cloaked assassins who roam freely in the Tri-State area. In other words, if you enjoyed the critically acclaimed first season, this is going to be a nice treat with ten brand-new episodes.

What We Do in the Shadows is based on the 2014 vampire mockumentary movie of the same name which follows a group of vampires (Taika Waititi, Jemaine Clement, Jonathan Brugh, Ben Fransham). They all live together in Wellington, New Zealand and have distinctly different personalities. The movie earned $6.9 million on an initial $1.6 million budget and gained a cult status after Waititi's career started to take off in North America. The series was created by Clement, who co-wrote and co-directed the movie with Waititi. It keeps much of the same vibe, but changes the location to New York.

The What We Do in the Shadows series is written and executive produced by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement. The show stars Matt Berry (The IT Crowd), Kayvan Novak (Early Man), Natasia Demetriou (Year Friends), Harvey Guillen (The Magicians), and Mark Proksch (The Office). Star Wars legend Mark Hamill is coming on board for season 2, which should be huge for long-time fans. The show has featured a number of notable guest stars including Dave Bautista, Evan Rachel Wood, Danny Trejo, Wesley Snipes, Paul Rubens, and Tilda Swinton. All of the aforementioned actors took on vampire roles for the show.

According to Jemaine Clement What We Do in the Shadows takes a pretty narrow view at vampires. "We stay pretty basic '70s/'80s vampire rules, with a little bit of '30s. They can turn into bats. They can't go in the sunlight; they don't sparkle in the sun, they die," said Clement. He went on to add that, "They have to be invited in; in a lot of literature vampires have to be invited into private buildings, but this is a documentary so it's the real rules which means they have to be invited into any building." The main influences on FX series are Fright Night, Martin, The Lost Boys, Nosferatu, Interview with the Vampire, Vampire's Kiss, and Bram Stoker's Dracula.
