An official trailer has been released for When George Got Murdered, a scripted movie imagining what life may have been like for the staff and inmates at the prison that serves as the new home for George Floyd's killer. Montel Williams of The Montel Williams Show stars in the lead role as the captain who's attempting to keep things in order amid all of the complications that come with housing such a high-profile inmate. You can get a sneak peek at the film by watching the trailer below.

The movie was written and directed by Terrance Tykeem (Jason's Letter). Along with Williams, it stars Beanie Sigel, Don Must, and Robert Wuhl. Running at 65 minutes long, it won't be officially rated by the MPAA and arrives just in time for the trials of the other officers involved in Floyd's murder.

When George Got Murdered is a reimagining of what happened inside of the jail where the ex-cop who killed George Floyd was being held in the Spring of 2020. As the guards and the inmates are witnessing what is taking place in their city and around the world as a result of George Floyds murder, the news of the Killers’ presence in the jail has spread. Inside the jail, the guards know that doing their job to keep the Killer safe will not be an easy task. And they have recently become aware that none of the minority guards in the jail are being allowed to work the unit where the killer of George Floyd is being held.

In addition, there is the mounting pressure of the inmates themselves, who have begun making outright threats against the Killer ex-cop as their own form of justice, threats that every one of the guards know could very well potentially of happen. It does not take long before some of the guards begin to voice their displeasure at having the Killer’s presence in such a small facility but also to the implementation of a racist policy that has been placed upon their fellow correction officers of color. Tensions continue to rise, culminating in a totally unexpected but eye-opening and thought provoking ending to the film.

George Floyd was infamously killed by Minneapolis police officers on May 25, 2020. Footage of his murder was captured on video by distraught bystanders and had led to worldwide protests calling for change. This was instrumental in leading to the arrest and conviction of Derek Chauvin, an officer who could be seen kneeling on Floyd's neck for several minutes before his death. Chauvin was convicted on two counts of murder and one count of manslaughter and has been sentenced to serve 22.5 years in prison. The other officers have also been found criminally liable of violating Floyd's rights.
