After scoring an Oscar nomination for The Descendants in 2012 and starring in the blockbuster adaptation Divergent earlier this year, Shailene Woodley returns to her indie roots with the first trailer for White Bird in a Blizzard. The actress plays 17-year-old Kat Connors, whose repressed mother Eve (Eva Green) suddenly disappears, just as she discovers her own sexuality. After returning home from college a few years later, Kat must confront why her mother really left.

Christopher Meloni, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe and Thomas Jane co-star in writer-director Gregg Araki's upcoming drama, debuting on iTunes September 25 ahead of its theatrical debut October 24.
