Director Roland Emmerich is in early talks to direct James Vanderbilt's action drama, White House Down.

The plot for the film is being kept under wraps, but we do know that the drama will follow a paramilitary takeover of the White House. The script was written by James Vanderbilt who most recently scripted The Amazing Spider-Man. Sony Pictures paid $3 million for the rights.

The director will produce with his partner Harald Kloser and Mythology Entertainment's Bradley Fischer, James Vanderbilt, and Laeta Kalogridis.

This project is still in early development.
