The stars of White Men Can't Jump got back together on Oscar night to celebrate the film's 30th anniversary. At the ceremony, Woody Harrelson, Wesley Snipes, and Rosie Perez appeared on stage to present the Oscar for Best Cinematography. On stage, the trio also spoke about their film, which was celebrating its 30th anniversary from releasing in theaters on that same day. As noted by the cast, it's hard for them to believe that it has been three decades since that night."It's just hard to believe that it's been 30 years since White Men Can't Jump," said Rosie Perez on stage Sunday night during the 2022 Academy Awards. Woody Harrelson was standing next to her and replied, "You mean 30 years since I proved they could."To round out the terrific cast of the 1992 classic, Wesley Snipes joined them to announce the category at the Oscars.

All three looked terrific on stage, despite how many years have passed since the release of White Men Can't Jump. Harrelson made a stoner joke, which may not come as a surprise to some, saying he probably shouldn't have taken a "bong rip" before the show. Perez gave them each a hard time before Harrelson finally announced Dune as the winner. Here's a closer look at the comedy classic that's still enjoyed by moviegoers and basketball lovers today.

White Men Can't Jump was set in Los Angeles and follows a pair of basketball hustlers, Sidney Deane and Billy Hoyle, who team up when Billy gets in trouble, owing money to a pair of ruthless gangsters. The supporting cast includes Perez, Tyra Ferrell, Kadeem Hardison, Ernest Harden Jr. and John Marshall Jones. Ron Shelton (Bull Durham) directed White Men Can't Jump from his own screenplay, with the end result earning $76.2 million domestically during its theatrical run. Snipes had great chemistry with most of his co-stars but none as great as what he had with Harrelson. The duo first acted together in Wildcats before starring in this classic.

It was recently confirmed that an updated version of the hit film is coming soon. Black-ish creator Kenya Barris is teaming up with the NBA's Blake Griffin and NFL star Ryan Kalil for a remake of White Men Can't Jump. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Kenya Barris will write the screenplay and produce the film, which will fall under the overall deal he signed with 20th Century Fox. The reboot will also feature Jack Harlow's acting debut. The 23-year-old acclaimed musician has just been cast in the role originally portrayed by Harrelson, as reported by Deadline. Though Harlow has not acted professionally, the filmmakers reportedly had a lot of confidence in the musician's transition into acting based on a powerful audition.
