Whitewater Films is bringing Zapper to the big screen, a dark comedy about the rise and fall of a teenage evangelist.

According the The Hollywood Reporter, Rick Rosenthal (Bad Boys) will direct from a screenplay by Jim Strain (Jumanji). The film takes a satirical look at a young preacher who becomes a local sensation after appearing to communicate with the dead through a TV remote control.

No word on who will star or when production begins.
