Last week, a new Daily Bugle viral story for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 teased the villainous Carnage, a.k.a. Cletus Kasady. Though, as with all of these Daily Bugle stories, it isn't known if the character will actually appear in the sequel or not. Today, producers Avi Arad and Matthew Tolmach teased that this character may be showing up in their upcoming spin-off Venom.

When asked if Carnage will be a part of the Venom movie, Avi Arad had this to say,

"What a great idea."

Since last week's Daily Bugle viral story was "written" by none other than Eddie Brock, the character who turns into Venom in the Marvel comic books, it seems these characters interacting in the spin-off would be a perfect fit. In the comics, Cletus Kasady actually got his his powers from Venom while sharing a jail cell with Eddie Brock. Cletus becomes infected by the Symbiote and transforms later into Carnage.

Matthew Tolmach elaborated that they are taking into consideration whether or not Carnage will be a part of this new story.

"Exactly. The idea of Venom and Carnage... taking it into consideration. Watch out for this Venom movie. We are crazy excited."

Avi Arad also spoke about the popularity of Venom, and the 1994 U.K. special they produced centering on the character.

"We did Venom in the UK as a special issue based on the '94 show: the three-parter. And I think if you check the record book it was probably one of the best-selling videos. Way before DVD. Because the character is interesting. Even Venom is not - we call them villains, but he's really not a villain."
