Will Ferrell has signed on to star in the indie film Everything Must Go, which will be the feature directorial debut of commercials director Dan Rush.

According to Variety, with a budget of under $10 million, the film is based on a Raymond Carver short story, with the screenplay by Rush. Ferrell will play a guy who loses his job and gets locked out of the house by his wife. She deposits his belongings on the front lawn, and he spends the next four days trying to sell his possessions.

Production will begin in March.
