On Saturday, June 3, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the historic Hollywood Palladium, L.A. Shanti, the first nonprofit organization to provide direct services to people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles, is proud to present A Taste of L.A. Shanti: An Evening of Wine, Food & Auction. In its fifteenth year, this prestigious event has become a popular L.A. tradition and one of the premiere wine tasting events in Southern California. Tickets are still available for this evening of Hollywood nostalgia, glamour and charm while enjoying samples from the finest wineries and the city's most popular restaurants.
With samplings of food and wine from over 35 restaurants and wineries, the event is expected to attract 2000 guests and celebrities, including actress Shelley Morrison (Will & Grace's razor-tongued Rosario).
In addition to the food and wine extravaganza, the A Taste of L.A. Shanti will also feature exciting live and silent auctions where guests can bid on hundreds of fantastic and unique items including walk-on roles on hit television shows and movie memorabilia.
Tickets for A Taste of L.A. Shanti: An Evening of Wine, Food & Auction are $95 for advanced purchases and $125 at the door, if available. VIP table seating for 8 is available for $1500. A Taste of L.A. Shanti: An Evening of Wine, Food & Auction is an all-you-can-sample tour that will take your palate from a shrimp ceviche sushi roll at Sushi Roku to exotic cuisine from Providence, Crustacean, Sonora Cafe, Blue Palms and many of the other fine Los Angeles restaurants serving their exquisite culinary delights. To tantalize the taste buds even further, guests will sample wines poured from premiere vineyards in California including Honig, Raymond, Napa Cellars, Oakville Ranch, Rubissow - Sargent, Ruston, Vina Robles and countless others.
All proceeds benefit L.A. Shanti, a nonprofit organization that provides free emotional support and education services to people from diverse communities facing life-threatening illnesses. Innovative programs offering Tools for Living include HIV risk reduction workshops, support groups for woman with cancer and substance abuse prevention for youth, among many others.
