It seems that we might be seeing a multiplying character in a new superhero film and some news about a beastly character has also been revealed. Comic Book Movie is reporting that Jamie Madrox a.k.a. Multiplying Man, will be appearing in X-Men: First Class.

The character was recently seen in the 2006 film X-Men: The Last Stand, portrayed by Eric Dane. The site is also reporting that three actors are in the running for the part, but they wouldn't specify which actors are up for the part. Here's a character description of Multiplying Man from Marvel.com

"Jamie Madrox's mutant ability was apparent at birth when a duplicate was created upon his being slapped by the doctor. Two weeks later, Jamie's father resigned from the Los Alamos Nuclear Research Center and moved his family to an intentionally isolated farm in Kansas at the suggestion of Professor Charles Xavier. From a young age, Madrox was given a special suit to wear that would neutralize his mutant power, but before this could be explained to him a freak tornado killed his parents when he was 15."

In other X-Men: First Class news, U.K.'s The Daily Mail is reporting that Benjamin Walker is off the film. Here's what a source for the site had to say.

Fox absolutely loved him, booked him and the next minute they're saying they don't want him. It was bizarre because they'd signed a deal on him,' a source intimately involved in the situation told me from Los Angeles yesterday."

Oddly enough, while they are reporting that they are trying to recast the role, it was said that they might end up offering the role back to Walker. It was said that three actors tested for the role yesterday, but none of them worked out.

We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further X-Men: First Class news as soon as we have more information.
