Will Poulter’s casting as Adam Warlock in the upcoming Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has seen the actor undergoing a few changes in order to take on the role, namely a new haircut and color. In a post for Alzheimer's Research UK, Poulter included a photo of himself with a new look that is clearly one that the star has chosen to adopt for his role as Warlock, which he is currently filming along with the rest of the Guardians cast under the direction of James Gunn.

“Our brains are responsible for everything we've ever accomplished, felt or dreamt. That's why I believe [Alzheimers Research UK] [and] the amazing minds working tirelessly to overcome dementia through research will [make breakthroughs possible]," Poulter’s post reads. The Detroit actor has revealed only a few posts since being announced as the one who would be bringing Adam Warlock to the MCU for his debut in 2023, and it looks like he is not relying on a wig to transform into the expected antagonist of the third and supposedly final Guardians adventure under Gunn’s direction.

Adam Warlock was originally teased, but not seen, in the post-credit scene of the second Guardians of the Galaxy movie back in 2017, and of course, we already know how Marvel likes to play the long game with some of their post-credit teases and this has certainly been one of the longest considering it will be a full six years since that scene when the new movie receives its premiere in 2023. As Adam Warlock has been one of the characters that many Marvel fans have been desperate to see arrive in the MCU, the wait will hopefully have been worth it.

Fans have been generally on board with the casting of Poulter in the role, and considering Marvel’s almost flawless casting across their 26 movies it is no surprise that this seems like another winning choice. Recently, comic book writer Jim Stalin, who did not create the character of Adam Warlock but has been responsible for many of the character’s appearances over the years, praised Marvel’s choice in their castings and seemed to be on board with their choice of Poulter for Warlock, although he did also concede that he has a list of the actor’s recent movies to watch as he isn’t familiar with his work.

Early last month, Poulter spoke to Variety about a number of things, but as you would expect he was a little cagey about discussing the role. "I'm not really allowed to speak about the part," he said. "Just given that it's Marvel I'm sworn to secrecy. But [I'm] very, very grateful to, you know, be talking about something like Dopesick on one hand and talking about something — or, not talking about something — like Guardians on the other. But very, very grateful to be doing both."

We will see Poulter join the Guardians of the Galaxy on screen in May 2023 when the movie arrives in theaters as the 32nd movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
