Will Poulter has hit the Hollywood big-time with his role as Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but that doesn't mean he is always recognized - at least not as himself. While it is one thing to be mistaken for another actor, Poulter recently recalled being awkwardly mistaken for Toy Story bully Sid while in an L.A. toilet.

Having been frequently compared to the Toy Story character online, Poulter even dressed up as Sid for an anti-bullying campaign, showing that he took the remark of resemblance as flattery and accepted the jokes. Sometimes though, the pranks get out of hand.

While promoting the latest film in James Gunn's Marvel trilogy, the former Maze Runner star spoke to GQ and recalled an awkward moment he had with a fan a few days ago, due to his similarities to the animated character:

"A guy at a urinal in LA last week turned to me and said, “You're in Toy Story, right?” And I was like, “Well, that was animated.” I don't want to be rude. I also appreciate there's a meme going round of me—I dressed up as Sid from Toy Story for anti-bullying week. So arguably I haven't helped my case. But [Toy Story came out in] 1995. I was two. And they weren't doing it through live action."

Poulter has been building his career since his screen debut in Son of Rambow. That was in 2007, over a decade after the Disney Pixar movie was first released, but it seems that the resemblance between the two is something that became immediately notable to many.

Will Poulter’s Future Is Now With Adam Warlock

There is no doubt that the matter of Sid will be left behind now that the actor has officially joined the MCU. His debut as Adam Warlock was possibly one of the most anticipated arrivals for fans. Although his character is not exactly as he appears in the comic books, this is most likely just the beginning for the star.

At the moment, it is unknown in which future MCU projects the character will appear, although it is expected that he will join the Avengers in The Kang Dynasty. Adam Warlock's power would certainly be of use in the upcoming multiverse-closing Secret Wars too.

Warlock's first appearance, albeit under a different name, was in 1967 in The Fantastic Four comics, so the arrival of the superhero family could also mean new appearances for Poulter as the golden hero.

Besides his future in Marvel, now that the actor has worked alongside James Gunn, DC fans could well see him having a role to play in that franchise as well. Gunn has already made it clear that he likes nothing better than bringing the same actors into his work whenever possible, and Poulter could well be the latest to join his crew.
