The Avengers 2 director Joss Whedon set off a fanboy frenzy last week, when he cryptically teased that Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch may be featured in The Avengers 2. Adding more fuel to that fire is an unidentified source who has "confirmed" that the brother and sister superheroes will be a part of that story. However, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige would not say one way or another.

"I'm not confirming or denying. The draft could change six months from now."

The characters first appeared in Marvel's X-Men comic books, as villains under the nefarious Magneto, before later being recruited into The Avengers. The Scarlet Witch, a.k.a. Wanda Maximoff, has the ability to control and manipulate probabilities. Her brother Quicksilver, a.k.a. Pietro Maximoff, has the gift of super-human speed.

The only thing that has been confirmed regarding The Avengers 2 is that Joss Whedon is directing from his own screenplay, which he just recently completed.
