Wolverine may be the most popular of the X-Men, able to defeat nearly any villain, and to heal from any injury - but even his healing factor may not be enough to overcome the Swine Flu. Twentieth Century Fox has announced that the premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in Mexico City was going to be delayed due to the flu pandemic, according to a report in Variety.

With many of the city's theatres likely to be closed, Fox has said they would announce a new launch date once there is a better sense of when they are likely to reopen. The closing of the theatres comes at the request of Mayor Marcelo Ebrard, who has asked that public places close in an attempt to contain the outbreak.

With the U.S. also declaring a medical emergency, it will be interesting to see whether or not fear over the flu affects the opening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in the U.S. this coming weekend.
