Liam Neeson is in final negotiations to star in yet another cat-and-mouse action-thriller, A Willing Patriot. The actor will play an FBI agent who is trying to outwit a terrorist and capture him before he can carry out a deadly attack. No other cast members have been confirmed at this time, but with Liam Neeson on board, the supporting cast should fill up quickly.

Martin Zandvliet is directing from a screenplay by Jason Keller (Escape Plan, Machine Gun Preacher), which was originally developed at Warner Bros. before it was moved to MadRiver Entertainment, which is fully financing the movie. The project is being shopped to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival, with a domestic distribution deal expected to be announced at the festival. Here's what producer Marc Butan had to say about Liam Neeson's casting in a statement.

"Liam Neeson is one of the defining actors of our generation and audiences will love him in this role. After seeing Martin Zandvliet's new film Land Of Mine, we knew he was an incredible storyteller and the perfect match to collaborate with Liam."

Marc Butan is producing with Film 360's Guymon Casady and Darin Friedman, alongside Hollywood Gang's Gianni Nunnari. No production schedule was given at this time. Liam Neeson is currently shooting Martin Scorsese's Silence, and he will next be seen later this year in Entourage, Ted 2 and in next year's A Monster Calls.
