Earlier this week, X-Men: Days of Future Past star Patrick Stewart revealed an interesting piece of news that he has been talking with 20th Century Fox about starring in Wolverine 3 alongside Hugh Jackman. While it isn't known if this is set in stone or not, Hugh Jackman addressed the rumor while doing press for Chappie. Interestingly enough, the actor didn't deny the news, stating that he thinks Wolverine's relationship with Professor X is well worth exploring in Wolverine 3. Here's what he had to say below.

"I'm not going to deny it. I've learned over the years to try and put my best poker face on. By the way, play poker with me if you want to win some money, because I'm terrible. But, I've always seen it as a really important relationship, and we started with that and I think it's a really important one. I think it would be really great to see it in the Wolverine movie, because we haven't really explored it in the standalone Wolverine movies. So it's not not not not not going to happen."

While the last line of this statement is surely meant to be a joke, the fact that the actor didn't deny Patrick Stewart's involvement is certainly intriguing. 20th Century Fox has already issued a March 3, 2017 release date, with The Wolverine director James Mangold returning to the helm. No story details have been confirmed quite yet, but Hugh Jackman also teased in December that the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse may tie in to Wolverine 3. As you may recall, the end credit sequence in The Wolverine helped set up X-Men: Days of Future Past, so it would make sense that X-Men: Apocalypse would somehow tie into Wolverine 3.
