Back in July, Hugh Jackman posted teaser artwork for his highly-anticipated sequel Wolverine 3, while asking fans what they would like to see in his final Wolverine movie. During an interview last month, the actor revealed that several fans asked for the sequel to bring back Victor Creed, a.k.a. Sabretooth, who was most recently played by Liev Schreiber in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Liev Schreiber appeared on last night's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he revealed that he would like to come back for Wolverine 3, possibly as "Old Man Sabretooth."

"I don't know if I'm invited, but what I heard was that the storyline is Old Man Logan. And when I heard that, I thought, 'Well, you know... there's Old Man Logan, there could be Old Man Sabretooth.'"

The Old Man Logan comic book story has been rumored as the basis for Wolverine 3 for quite some time, but an unconfirmed report from June claimed the sequel will not be based on that comic, which was created by Mark Millar. The Old Man Logan adaptation would be difficult to pull off, since several characters in that story are controlled by Marvel Studios. The story follows Logan, who retires as a superhero and travels the country, where he runs into several different heroes and villains, such as Hulk, Red Skull and Hawkeye.

Liev Schriber himself even fueled speculation that he will come back as Sabretooth, when he responded to a photo Hugh Jackman posted on his Twitter page, showcasing the muscular actor during one of his workout sessions. Many people assumed that Liev Schreiber's reply of "do I have to do that?" meant that he was asking Hugh Jackman if he had to undergo that kind of training to come back as Sabretooth. However, Liev Schreiber set the record straight on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, revealing what he really meant.

"People have surmised that, from my tweet, but I was really just saying, 'Is that something I have to do, as I get older?' Do I approach middle age like that?'"

All that we know for sure about Wolverine 3 is that Hugh Jackman is set to star, with James Mangold (The Wolverine) set to direct from a script by Michael Green. Production is scheduled to to begin in early 2016, with 20th Century Fox setting a March 3, 2017 release date. Do you think Liev Schreiber should come back as Sabretooth in Wolverine 3?
