A few lucky locals in New Orleans got to witness the reunion of Logan and Professor X this week, as shooting on Wolverine 3 continues. Both Hugh Jackman, who reprises his role as the indestructible mutant Wolverine, and Patrick Stewart, the original Charles Xavier, are looking a lot worse for wear in these latest images. In fact, Professor X appears to be in pretty bad shape.
The images were shared by Just Jared, who have over 15 new images. You'll have to visit the site to see them, as we're not legally allowed to show them to you here. We do have a few sneak peeks in the Twitter embeds below.
Hugh Jackman is seen pushing his co-star Patrick Stewart in a wheelchair. This is the fifth X-Men movie the pair have appeared in together. They kicked off the franchise in 2000 with the original movie, teaming up again for X2: X-Men United in 2003 and X-Men: The Last Stand in 2006. They then reunited in 2014 for X-Men: Days of Future Past. Patrick Stewart also appeared in the post-credit stinger for The Wolverine.
We're not quite sure how Professor X factors into Wolverine 3, which is rumored to be titled Weapon X, which ties into this summer's X-Men: Apocalypse. It was rumored for a long time that this next sequel would be based on the popular Old Man Logan Marvel Comic Book arc, but apparently that isn't true. What is known is that this is a neo-Western that takes place in the future, and will likely introduce X-23, the female version of Wolverine, who could take over for Hugh Jackman once he gets done with this finale.
The scene being shot finds Logan and Xavier being rushed out of a Casino. They are placed into a truck and driven away. A young, unidentified actress joins them in one shot. Is this our first look at X-23? We don't have an answer for that. This is the second time Hugh Jackman has been spotted on set. He was seen last week in a disheveled state of affairs, with a greying beard that only seemed to confirm the Old Man Logan rumors. We'll keep you posted as more set photos come in.
