It seems like X-Men Origins: Wolverine is going to begin shooting very soon. Nestled in an article about the completion of Baz Luhrman's Australia, the Sydney Morning Herald reveals that Hugh Jackman will begin work on X-Men Origins: Wolverine in mid-January.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is to be directed by Gavin Hood, and explores Wolverine's early days. The film will cover Logan's early life, and his involvement with the mysterious Weapon X program. It stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan, and Liev Schreiber as William Stryker.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is due to arrive in theatres in 2009.
