After the critical and box office success of last year's Wonder Woman, DC and Warner Bros. have been working hard to produce the sequel as quickly as possible. Wonder Woman 2 is currently slated for a November 2019 release. Patty Jenkins, who directed the first movie, is set to return for this project, in addition to star Gal Gadot. Saturday Night Live veteran Kristen Wiig is also set to be part of the project, portraying the primary antagonist Cheetah.

Pedro Pascal, most notable for his leading role in Narcos, has joined the cast of Wonder Woman 2 in a yet-to-be-announced role. While the actual details of his character are still a mystery, we do know that he will have a key role in the film.

The actor won a Gold Derby TV Award in 2014 for his work in Game of Thrones, in addition to earning numerous nominations for his work in both Game of Thrones and Narcos. He is also notable for his appearance as the Statesman Whiskey in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, actually stealing the spotlight for much of the film, despite having limited screen time in the film's promotions.

Pascal is certainly on the rise in Hollywood, and has been for a few years. He is currently filming a Netflix original film alongside Ben Affleck and Oscar Isaac. Even though we know nothing specific about Pascal in Wonder Woman 2, he is sure to bring a bit of star power to the film, which is sure to help his career even more.

It is very possible that Pascal may be taking up the role of "Angle Man," one of Wonder Woman's greatest adversaries in the comics. While he was initially powerless, he eventually gained the weapon "the angler," which let him bend dimensions and use teleportation both on himself and on subjects.

Pedro Pascal certainly has the looks and the acting chops to pull off the character. Considering how amazing of a foe Angle Man is, DC could be setting up his character for a greater arc. Angelo Bend, the alter ego of Angle Man, could have a supporting role in Wonder Woman 2, possibly as an ally to Wonder Woman, before his ultimate betrayal at the end of the film. Should a Wonder Woman 3 be slated, we could see Pascal return as Angle Man, who finally has the Angler and possibly becomes Wonder Woman's greatest foe, completing a full story arc for the tentative trilogy.

Being betrayed by her ally may be enough to have Wonder Woman close herself off from the rest of the world, which is how we saw her during Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and at the beginning of Justice League. While this is all pure speculation, it would be a very interesting story arc for us to see as the Wonder Woman series progresses.

Wonder Woman 2 is setting up to be one of the most anticipated films of 2019. Considering how great Wonder Woman was, both at the box office and with audiences, it's safe to say that DC and Warner Bros. are pumping as much quality into their film as possible. Adding Pedro Pascal to the mix was a great step, and we can't wait to see what other steps they make in the future to make Wonder Woman 2 even better than the first. This news comes from Variety.
