It's official! Wonder Woman is now shooting. And the first photo has arrived. It shows Gal Gadot as Diana Prince in her Wonder Woman hood and headband. Patty Jenkins is directing this fourth installment in the DC Comics Extended Universe. She is best known for her hit 2003 drama Monster and her work on the AMC series The Killing.

Principle photography is taking place in England. The character of Wonder Woman is set to make her big screen debut in this March's superhero epic Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Arriving in theaters on June 23, 2017, Wonder Woman will mark the first time this iconic DC Comics character has ever headlined a feature film. She will also be seen in Justice League Part 1 in 2017 and Justice League Part 2 in 2019.

Wonder Woman has lined up an impressive ensemble cast that will help make up the DCEU. Starring alongside Gal Gadot is Chris Pine, perhaps best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in the new Star Trek movie series that launched in 2009. He stars as Diana Prince's love interest Captain Steve Trevor. It is rumored that Chris Pine may be playing duel roles, taking on the character of Trevor's grandfather in part of the story set in World War I.

Also starring in the movie is Robin Wright, who currently headlines Netflix's hit drama series House of Cards as Claire Underwood. Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis round out the rest of the main supporting cast. More casting announcements are expected as shooting continues into 2016.

The film is being produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder, with Richard Suckle, Stephen Jones, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Rebecca Roven serving as executive producers. Joining Jenkins behind the camera are director of photography Matthew Jensen, Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto, Oscar-winning editor Martin Walsh, and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming.

Principal photography is taking place on location in the UK, France and Italy. No plot details have been revealed yet. Wonder Woman is based on characters created by William Moulton Marston, and has appeared in comic books published by DC Entertainment. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company. Take a look at Gal Gadot. Is this everything you were hoping for in a Wonder Woman movie?
