Just under two weeks after Breaking Bad's Michelle MacLaren signed on to direct Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. is in talks with screenwriter Jason Fuchs (Pan) to write the screenplay for this DC Comics adaptation. Gal Gadot is playing the title character, who will first be introduced in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before her stand-alone adventure. Jason Fuchs will work with Michelle MacLaren on the screenplay drafts.

No story details have been confirmed, but a report from last month revealed that the story takes place in the 1920s. Half of this adventure will take place on Wonder Woman's homeland of Paradise Island, with warring factions vying for control. The plot thickens when a mysterious man arrives on the island, and later takes Wonder Woman to America. We also reported earlier this week that, in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) has several of his agents keeping tabs on Wonder Woman, who still walks the streets today, though spotted in pictures dating back to the 1800s.

It remains to be seen when Wonder Woman will start production. Suicide Squad, the next DC Comics movie after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, is slated to start filming in April 2015, with an August 5, 2016 release date already set. It's possible that Wonder Woman may start filming in late 2015, depending on when the script is ready and casting has been completed. We'll keep you posted as soon as more details come in.
