When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters in just a few short months, it will introduce several characters in the expansive DC Comics Extended Universe (DCEU), including Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman. The actress is currently in production on her stand alone Wonder Woman movie, which has been shooting since November. Today we have even more photos from the set, which feature both Gal Gadot and Chris Pine in a World War I setting. The actress is also seen sporting her sword and shield, although she isn't in her Wonder Woman costume.
Chris Pine confirmed the World War I setting last month, and fans will be treated to a sneak peek of Wonder Woman during a new special on The CW Network which airs tomorrow, Tuesday, January 19 at 9:30 PM ET. Since production is still under way, it seems unlikely that this will be a full trailer, but hopefully we'll get some sort of a glimpse at this highly-anticipated movie. It has been rumored that the movie is set in Wonder Woman's homeland of Themyscira, along with World War I and present-day settings, details which will hopefully be confirmed during this special.
Chris Pine is playing the title character's love interest, Steve Trevor, along with Ewen Bremner, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis and Saïd Taghmaoui. No details have been given for the rest of the supporting cast quite yet ,but Connie Nielsen just joined the cast as the title character's mother, Hippolyta. There have also been rumors that Sean Bean and Eva Green were playing the main villains Ares and Circe, but their involvement hasn't been confirmed either.
Wonder Woman will hit theaters on June 23, 2017, just a few months before the title character will unite with her superhero team in Justice League Part 1 on November 11, 2017. Production on both Justice League Part 1 and Justice League Part 2 is set to begin at the end of this year, with both films shooting back-to-back over a lengthy nine-month shoot. Zack Snyder is directing this two-part adventure from a script by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer.
Patty Jenkins (Monster) is directing Wonder Woman from a screenplay by Jason Fuchs (Pan), with Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder producing. Principal photography is taking place on location in the UK, France and Italy. No plot details have been revealed yet. Take a look at the latest set photos below, and stay tuned for the special sneak peek at Wonder Woman debuting tomorrow on The CW.
