Veteran showrunner David E. Kelley is bringing Wonder Woman back to the small screen and is optimistic it will debut next year despite broadcast networks passing on his script this week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"I think the likelihood is we'll see it next year," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "I'm being optimistic but I don't think I'm being unrealistic."
"I like to think of it as a smart script and I know he responds to smart material." [Wonder Woman will be explored as a] "real complex woman and not just a superhero."
David E. Kelley thinks the show would be a good fit at NBC, but also mentioned that it's a "possibility" Wonder Woman could land at cable.
